Glory to God—Christ the Savior is Born in Bethlehem

We celebrate this Christmas with renewed focus on shedding abroad the light and love of Jesus to all whose lives we touch. We pray that this Glory of God will shine brighter than ever, breaking every yoke of oppression and the spirit of Antichrist and releasing renewed hope, healing, and restoration over us and the nations. Overshadow us, Holy Spirit, as You overshadowed Mary, the mother of Christ. We pray the fragrance of the Spirit of Glory permeate our families and churches.

We remember the poor, homeless, and those battling infirmities. We also remember our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters across the world. May the angels of God shield and protect them. We also ask for angels to protect those serving in our armed forces far from home, our law enforcement, and first responders. We cover their families this holiday season. We join the angelic voices in declaring boldly over our churches and cities—“Glory to God in the Highest and on earth, Peace!”

Luke 2: 9-10, 13-14, "And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!'”

Isaiah 9:2, "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined."

Matt 2:1-2, 11, "Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, 'Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.'  And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh."

Micah 5:2, "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.”

Numbers 24:17, “I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; a Star shall come out of Jacob; a Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and batter the brow of Moab, and destroy all the sons of tumult.”

Zephaniah 3:17, “The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Psalm 100:4, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”
