2022 Forty-Day Corporate Fast
Ezra 8:21, “Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions.”
We begin and consecrate this year with a forty-day fast, seeking the face of the Lord, His will for the church and for each of us personally, and for a great harvest of souls in all the nations. He will hear and answer us!
Humbling and Repentance: This week, we fast and pray as one body. Above all, we humble ourselves before God. We ask for forgiveness, for deliverance, and for the renewing of our minds by the Blood of the Lamb. We cry out for mercy and grace, and for protection for God’s people. Holy Spirit, fill and lead us. We do repent and ask, “Heavenly Father, transform us, heal our land, and guide us in Your way.”
Daniel 9:3, “Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes . . . ”
2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Joel 1:13-14, “Gird yourselves and lament, you priests; wail, you who minister before the altar; come, lie all night in sackcloth, you who minister to my God; for the grain offering and the drink offering are withheld from the house of your God. Consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly; gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.”
Acts 2:17, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.”
Ezra 8:21-23, “Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions. For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, ‘The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.’ So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.”
