Watch Focus - Speak Shalom to the Storm

“Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, ‘Lord, save us! We are perishing!’ But He said to them, ‘Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?’ Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, ‘Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?’” (Matthew 8:23-27)

In the midst of the many storms and crises which have come upon our nation, Jesus, the King of Glory, is present in the boat with us. He is invisible but not intangible. He is with us leading us from glory to glory. The Lord Jesus sits in the heavens and laughs at those raging against Him, and in the midst of the storm He declares, “Peace be still!” With fresh sea legs given by the Lord Jesus, come to the Lord with faith, not fear. Pray shalom upon every storm. Thank the Lord for His goodness and His works for us. Rebuke the winds and the waves raging in our government, media, economy, and other institutions. Speak peace to our southern border. Pray for revival for every church and for a great harvest of souls. Let the King of Glory come in!

Psalm 107:6-7, “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.”

Psalm 107:20, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

Psalm 107:29-32 “He calms the storm, So that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the company of the elders.”

Psalm 2:1-12, “Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, ‘Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.’ He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, ‘As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.’ I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, ‘You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”
